This memoir traces the author’s journey from a challenging childhood in French Montreal—marked by joy, hardship, and an absent war-traumatized father—through adversity, homelessness, military service in Germany and France, and a life of adventure across No Summary 1. Family bonds, resilience, and formative experiences shaped the author’s adaptability, enabling him to survive personal battles, including cancer, and reflect on his remarkable life at age 83. 2. whose windows opened to the world beyond, childhood was enveloped in a rare innocence, undisturbed by the storms that raged elsewhere. The absence of his father, though keenly felt, was softened by the comforting presence of a devoted mother and a parade of caring uncles, each contributing their own color to his evolving sense of family. 3. Long afternoons were spent listening to melodies drifting through the rooms, the notes of Edith Piaf swirling in the air and transforming hardship into hope. Familiar faces and voices would fill the home, bringing laughter and stories that shaped the contours of his young imagination. Evenings glowed with the promise of tomorrow, as love and camaraderie shielded the author from the anxieties of an uncertain world. 4. My journey 5. About growing up in French Montreal in in the 1940,50 as a French-Canadian kid with and alcoholic and abusive father from world War 2 and becoming homeless and escaping to the U. S. and joining the army sent to Germany as a Ranger in a cavalry unit to end up in France and after many adventures good bad and ugly to end up in New York Texas Mexico CALIFORNIA and Washington state. SURVIVE the hippy flower movement in San Francisco working the Theater in the round in Anaheim and Hollywood and many more adventures at 83 is writing his memoirs lucky to be alive and scared to death . A Canadian Tale.
